Prayer and Fasting as a church

Matthew 13:31-32

Over time a small herb can grow into a tree. It may not look like much but when God is done with it, it is a mighty tree! God will also keep growing His church. It is not the end of the story—just a chapter!

Changes in kids are not seen day by day, sometimes it won’t be seen for years, but it can be crazy how fast they grow! Use growth instead of change! We don’t want change but growth is natural!

There are three natural changes in our life.. the first one is the hardest.  You go from nothing to something and it is the most dramatic. The second is going from small to working and growing. The third is working and you are at your best peak optimal performance.

The most difficult is going from nothing to something !  For instance, when you start a church, it can be just from scratch with you and your family every week. When something is in place,  there are better ways to operate. This is where e are going into 2020. We need to continue to fine tune as we grow.

We need to remember to commit our way to the Lord,  trust in Him and He will bring it to pass!  Put your faith in His word. God is faithful and will not return it void! We need to stand on His word!!

The twelve disciples expanded and grew the kingdom. It was expanded to 120 in the upper room, which greatly multiplied the number of disciples. God took the small, expanded it and it blew up in the Book of Acts.

We can expand like that in 2020! It is going to happen. He will bring it to pass! Healing and forgiveness will happen in 2020!

Just like a trapeze artist, we have to learn to walk up the ladder and grab that bar and swing. When we swing, we need to learn to trust that we can grab the other bar coming towards us and move on to the other side of the tent! Grab that bar and jump and swing! We are in a transition …we need to fly through the air, and let go of that back rope and grab on to the next rope!!

LET GO AND LET GOD!!!!

Prince of Peace

Isaiah 9:6

He is God Almighty!!He is THAT mighty God in the Son. He reveals the Father’s glory to us!

The first proclamation was from the angels. They proclaimed “Peace on Earth, Good will to men”.

So many are trying to take God out of our nation. The world does not want Christ or to be a part of it!

Celebrating around the holidays can get hectic. WE want it to be like a Norman Rockwell painting. We all want to step into that painting and be a part of that family. There will not be a crazy uncle or cousin there to bother us or ruin it! As adults, we know what is going on in families, and the adult weight of responsibilities!  Kids don’t see it. They are in a place of bliss and do not have the memories we have as adults.

As we grow up, we tend to get away from the joy God has done in our life!  For some of us, it is a trying and difficult time. We long to go back to that time when we were a kid, where there was joy and happiness. But for adults, where did that joy go?

The only way to find peace , is in Jesus! For times of trouble—stay close to the Lord. We need to find peace on earth–good will.

God brigs people to the house of God… we can’t do it alone! I need you Jesus! Just like the boat on the Sea of Galilee, when the fishermen cried out to God as they thought they were drowning! All you need to do is call on the name of the Lord. Call on the name of the Lord and he will come running to you!!

What did He say to calm the boat and waves? “PEACE BE STILL”

We tend to look around and want God to just take away all our problems…BUT, God may give you peace through that storm!

God says ” My Peace I leave with you, My Peace I give to you.”

God’s hand is reaching for you! There is peace to be had. and Joy in the Holy Ghost !!

Manna from Heaven (part 1)

Exodus 16:3-4

There were 4 million people in the desert traveling to the Promised Land. They were hungry and they wanted something different than the manna that they had been fed every day. God prepared manna to sustain them the whole time they were in the wilderness. It was a good bread, not like rye or wonder bread. It was sweet like honey. It was a 2 year trip for all the Israelites going from Egypt to Canaan. They were tired of manna and wanted more. They finally turned to God, after trying to do it on their own and begged Him. He saw their immediate need.

It is not what you or I can do but it’s God’s purpose in His heart. He wants 2020 people to fill this church next year in 2020!

When the Children of Israel murmured and complained, there was still manna on the ground the next day. No matter how far you get from God, there will still be manna for you! It is all about God providing for us. We will mount on the wings of eagles, we will walk and not faint!

When we get up in the morning we need to say “I cannot wait to see what God has for me today!” There will still be manna on the ground!

God showed me last week when I was out of town that we have a mighty revival coming! If you are wanting a small church then you will have to go somewhere else, because this will not be it!!

God said to Moses to tell the children of Israel that they were only to gather the amount of mannah needed for that day because it would rot if they took more than needed and some of them did take more and guess what? It did rot!! Only on the 6th day were they allowed to gather enough for 2 days!

We need to realize that the prophecy given to us 5 years ago is not the same prophecy He has for us today!! Step out and get that new prophecy for you!! The manna is still there !

We fall down sometimes and have to literally crawl from our tents to the outside to receive our manna. During their long journey, the children of Israel had all their tents surrounding the tabernacle, which was right outside their tents. If you can crawl out of that tent there will be a tabernacle waiting for you with manna there also.

Remember that Jesus is the BREAD OF LIFE! He does not give us just any bread but Heavenly bread! Remember that it is not me , but CHRIST IN ME! We don’t understand why He gives us mercy, or manna, but that mercy is new every day!

The children of Israel got tired of manna everyday and wanted meat. Two years of it was a lot so they were not as excited about receiving manna after all that time!

Remember that many are called, but few are chosen. To be chosen is up to you. Are you going to get out of your tent?

Greater is He that is in me, than He that is in the world. Thank God He doesn’t leave me in my sin. We need to get back to the concepts that His mercies are NEW EVERY DAY!!

David learned as a young boy of 15 to depend on God. He ripped a bear apart with his own hands. He let the Lord sustain him. He called God his Refuge, Rock, Shield, Rescuer, Life, and Salvation.

So crawl out of that tent because there is manna right outside your tent. We are going to go forward… How?? By trusting in Jesus!! He got us here and He will keep us here! We need that manna!

Step out on faith and come to the altar for that manna you are needing ! The manna for the children of Israel was new every morning but they tired of it after 2 years. The thing is, there attitude changed about the manna …the manna did not change!

We need to put our faith in God and in His church and HE WILL OVERCOME!

The year 2020 is the Vision ! We are going to see the vision, but we must see God HIGH AND LIFTED UP!

Stand on the Promises of the Almighty God

Pastor Tom Pina

Oct. 13, 2019

“I was glad when they said come to the house of the Lord.”

Jeremiah 32:17

God knows your situation. With trust and confidence we can lay it all on the altar! He will not leave you alone. We can trust Him no matter the situation. Abraham was told to drop everything so he could be shown the promise land. God wants us to drop everything so He can show us the promise land also!  It is human nature to not be able to grasp the power of the living God, But someday we will see beyond human nature!

I never thought I would walk a different life than what I had. I figured it was my lot in life . to either die of an overdose or armed robbery. We will overcome!! God will never leave us nor forsake us! We need to stand on the promise of the living God. He can bring you through! You need to put forth the confidence in Him!

I worked in tamale factory when I was young. I rode a bike to work. That bike had one bent wheel and 1 pedal. One day after work my bike was stolen! Wow, someone must have needed it worse than I did! I hitchhiked, rode the bus, etc. to get to work after that. I am so glad God had a better plan for my life!

God protects His children! Will it get heavy? YES! Sometimes stubbornness gets in the way also. Obey the word of God and allow yourself to fall into the hands of God.  We may have situations we cannot handle BUT  there is nothing too hard that God cannot do for you.

The key is to allow Him to be our God all the time, not just when you want Him to be! He always wants to be by your side. The simple power of the Mighty God is awesome, but we put limits on God. We need to understand that He is there to walk us through. He will never leave us but we will leave Him. We will leave and we will fail!

The strategy is to have faith in God. Jesus will help you cross the Jordan or the Red Sea and He will do it with understanding. Is there anything too hard for God? Don’t let the devil tell you you won’t make it! GOD WILL SEE YOU THROUGH!

Don’t lose your promise. When He said He will never forsake you…He meant it! He has never turned His back on me!

We serve a mighty God! Don’t let the enemy cheat you !!

Tis the Season for Prayer

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

There was a kid in my high school that, although he was short in stature, would bully kids in his class. He managed to make friends with the football team and they would walk behind him and it would intimidate his “victims”. One day he decided it was my turn to be bullied. He kept walking behind me and kept kicking my leg and foot. He was always looking for a fight and had a cocky confidence even though he was short.  I ignored him and kept walking to class and that was the end of it!

We have an antagonist who keeps trying to kick our foot , BUT, we need to turn around and look at that little imp and tell him that he will NOT MESS WITH MY CHURCH OR MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS!  We need to push back against the enemy after so much and stand up to him! No more intimidation from the enemy!!

If prayer was like salsa, what would you be? Mild, Medium, or Hot?!  Mild salsa is bland, Medium is still too bland, and then there is HOT… on fire HOT !!

Before we merged our two churches together, we had fought battles separately, BUT now we are 2 in 1 and need to stand in unity. The Cedar Rapids church persevered and pushed through. The STAF church had to seek the Lord and pushed through.

God is calling all of you to fight for family, marriages, children and this church! If we don’t do this now, we will not be able to trust each other.

Are you faithful and dependable? We need commitment from everyone. We want everyone to be a part of the passion. We have a greater goal…. 2 cities …Cedar Rapids and Marion. God is preparing us by connecting and making new relationships. We need to share that there is a Jesus-name, Spirit-filled church that is here !!

In James 5:16  it says we need to pray for one another. ” The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” There is no break through without spiritual warfare.

We need to pray and refocus. If we don’t, then we will let the little pressures come in and make us pray.

We will know if the enemy has beat the church! We will sit here with no roof, and no one baptised. The praise team will sing the same songs and what does that all mean? The enemy has prevailed!!

Heaven is my home ! The devil cannot convince me to walk out of church. He has a plan B to distract and shut you down and hinder your work and get you to stop! We need to stir the church to pray for action!
