Resurrection Sunday

John 19: 25-28

We are living in uncertain times. We are not sure what is going on.We are a lot like the disciples in the New Testament. They walked with Jesus for three years and learned to love this man. In the Upper Room, Jesus said he would be gone soon. Judas left.

Jesus went into the garden to pray and the soldiers came. All of the disciples left Jesus, yet John the Beloved was with Him to the end. As the crowds mocked Jesus, Jesus looked down to see Mary, His mother, and John the Baptist standing together. He said to them …Woman, this is your son and son this is your mother.

Remember, when you are in the garden, Jesus is there. When we stand at the foot of the cross, Jesus will notice us. Even in His agony, He took notice of His mother and John the Beloved. There is always room at the foot of the cross for you!

In these uncertain times there is room at the cross for ALL of us! When we feel like we are not worthy, our response should be not to run away but run to the cross, to be covered by the blood of the cross.

Jesus is the Way the Truth, and the Life–not me but by ME ! He said to repent and you shall be saved.

On a hill there was a cross for me! I should have died, I was the sinner. The cross is a place of liberty! I believe in an interactive God!

Pray the prayer of the Father and people will be healed!

So..Make your way to the foot of the cross!

Prayer and Fasting as a church

Matthew 13:31-32

Over time a small herb can grow into a tree. It may not look like much but when God is done with it, it is a mighty tree! God will also keep growing His church. It is not the end of the story—just a chapter!

Changes in kids are not seen day by day, sometimes it won’t be seen for years, but it can be crazy how fast they grow! Use growth instead of change! We don’t want change but growth is natural!

There are three natural changes in our life.. the first one is the hardest.  You go from nothing to something and it is the most dramatic. The second is going from small to working and growing. The third is working and you are at your best peak optimal performance.

The most difficult is going from nothing to something !  For instance, when you start a church, it can be just from scratch with you and your family every week. When something is in place,  there are better ways to operate. This is where e are going into 2020. We need to continue to fine tune as we grow.

We need to remember to commit our way to the Lord,  trust in Him and He will bring it to pass!  Put your faith in His word. God is faithful and will not return it void! We need to stand on His word!!

The twelve disciples expanded and grew the kingdom. It was expanded to 120 in the upper room, which greatly multiplied the number of disciples. God took the small, expanded it and it blew up in the Book of Acts.

We can expand like that in 2020! It is going to happen. He will bring it to pass! Healing and forgiveness will happen in 2020!

Just like a trapeze artist, we have to learn to walk up the ladder and grab that bar and swing. When we swing, we need to learn to trust that we can grab the other bar coming towards us and move on to the other side of the tent! Grab that bar and jump and swing! We are in a transition …we need to fly through the air, and let go of that back rope and grab on to the next rope!!

LET GO AND LET GOD!!!!

First of All-Prayer

1 Timothy 2:1

We need to get the church stoked in prayer. God cares about worship and praise. This altar should be worship and praise! God works through our prayers!  God even said to the disciples to watch and pray for one hour. Stay awake for one hour, but God had to remind them!

First we need to be a praying people, before winning the lost, and the men, as head of the household, need to pray!  We need to pray in our homes, daycare, hallway, and pray for our children in this dark world!

To the men of this church—God is calling you to pray, lifting holy hands, in our homes, cars, convenience stores, etc. It is God’s will for men to pray everywhere. There is a need to pray with lifted hands.

There may be a situation that will come along that will make us NOT want to pray, but we need to persevere and pray until something happens!!

Elijah was a praying, righteous man and he prayed for a rain cloud. Seven times he prayed and finally God answered that the rain was coming soon. Don’t give up and don’t get discouraged. Matthew 21:22 says ” And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

The Children of Israel complained before they crossed over and got manna. After they complained, they got meat. After they crossed over they saw the promised land and became a praying people.

Pray everywhere and you will see the effects. We want to be a revival church—on fire, fresh and alive!! We want to see praise reports!  If the church REALLY prays, they will be happy because prayers lift oppression!

When the church starts to pray, an aroma goes up to God and He can smell the prayer! Remember to pray without ceasing! David knew that incense was prayers going up to God! Incense and prayer are synonymous with each other! When we pray, it becomes a fragrant cloud to God. Cologne is supposed to attract people so we should want our church to smell good to God!

We want to make our church a fragrant cloud to God.We need a church willing to pray against evil!!

Manna from Heaven (part 1)

Exodus 16:3-4

There were 4 million people in the desert traveling to the Promised Land. They were hungry and they wanted something different than the manna that they had been fed every day. God prepared manna to sustain them the whole time they were in the wilderness. It was a good bread, not like rye or wonder bread. It was sweet like honey. It was a 2 year trip for all the Israelites going from Egypt to Canaan. They were tired of manna and wanted more. They finally turned to God, after trying to do it on their own and begged Him. He saw their immediate need.

It is not what you or I can do but it’s God’s purpose in His heart. He wants 2020 people to fill this church next year in 2020!

When the Children of Israel murmured and complained, there was still manna on the ground the next day. No matter how far you get from God, there will still be manna for you! It is all about God providing for us. We will mount on the wings of eagles, we will walk and not faint!

When we get up in the morning we need to say “I cannot wait to see what God has for me today!” There will still be manna on the ground!

God showed me last week when I was out of town that we have a mighty revival coming! If you are wanting a small church then you will have to go somewhere else, because this will not be it!!

God said to Moses to tell the children of Israel that they were only to gather the amount of mannah needed for that day because it would rot if they took more than needed and some of them did take more and guess what? It did rot!! Only on the 6th day were they allowed to gather enough for 2 days!

We need to realize that the prophecy given to us 5 years ago is not the same prophecy He has for us today!! Step out and get that new prophecy for you!! The manna is still there !

We fall down sometimes and have to literally crawl from our tents to the outside to receive our manna. During their long journey, the children of Israel had all their tents surrounding the tabernacle, which was right outside their tents. If you can crawl out of that tent there will be a tabernacle waiting for you with manna there also.

Remember that Jesus is the BREAD OF LIFE! He does not give us just any bread but Heavenly bread! Remember that it is not me , but CHRIST IN ME! We don’t understand why He gives us mercy, or manna, but that mercy is new every day!

The children of Israel got tired of manna everyday and wanted meat. Two years of it was a lot so they were not as excited about receiving manna after all that time!

Remember that many are called, but few are chosen. To be chosen is up to you. Are you going to get out of your tent?

Greater is He that is in me, than He that is in the world. Thank God He doesn’t leave me in my sin. We need to get back to the concepts that His mercies are NEW EVERY DAY!!

David learned as a young boy of 15 to depend on God. He ripped a bear apart with his own hands. He let the Lord sustain him. He called God his Refuge, Rock, Shield, Rescuer, Life, and Salvation.

So crawl out of that tent because there is manna right outside your tent. We are going to go forward… How?? By trusting in Jesus!! He got us here and He will keep us here! We need that manna!

Step out on faith and come to the altar for that manna you are needing ! The manna for the children of Israel was new every morning but they tired of it after 2 years. The thing is, there attitude changed about the manna …the manna did not change!

We need to put our faith in God and in His church and HE WILL OVERCOME!

The year 2020 is the Vision ! We are going to see the vision, but we must see God HIGH AND LIFTED UP!

Our God is Mighty

Job 36:5

There are no churches without problems. We sometimes get offended over the dumbest things! We get too emotional. We sometimes act like everyday Christians but we need to return to a life and walk with the sovereignty of God. God is mighty and strong in power! Does God do anything NOT mighty??

God gives us life and life MORE ABUNDANTLY!! He did not come just to help me make it through life but make it more abundantly!

There is Heaven and Hell then death and it’s over! Lazarus came forth out of the grave still in sin. He could not walk out because he was tied up in the grave. ALL the people that witnessed his raising were amazed. He does mighty works all the time!!

After Job lost everything and was in ashes he called to God…”El Kahora” Which means God is Mighty! Don’t call out to God only during circumstances because He is mighty ALL THE TIME!

1 Corinthians 5:19 IT was God in Christ who saved us. God wants to be the almighty in your life. He wants to be your bodyguard. He wants to be there at the beginning of your life and at the end of your life!

We don’t know the end… no man knows, but we will understand it in the end!!  In Revelation it is revealed the majesty of Jesus Christ, the Mighty God, who dwelt among us and died for us and who rose on the 3rd day for us!

Cedar Rapids NEEDS Jesus! He needs to be high and lifted up! The Bible says ” They shall be my people and I shall be their God.”

When God is on the throne and we fall in love with Him, He will change our heart from stone to love. WE MUST HAVE A HEART FOR GOD!

Isaiah 6 it says He saw the Lord high and lifted up! There was a train so long that ll the robes of all the kings that they had conquered were attached to this train because He was the ONLY GOD, the mighty God and he was above all other kings and defeated all other kings!

We stand before God as a sinner and He looks down on us in all His wonder and says ” I LOVE YOU ANYWAY!” Jesus was the fulfillment of all strength and wisdom.  There is not one person in this church who should not have miracles in their life! I don’t want to just know about God but I want to experience Him! It doesn’t matter how far away you go, you cannot deny the experience of the Holy Ghost!

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow! He has comforted me, healed me, He became the light in my darkness, and when I was thirsty He gave me drink! He wants to be your MIGHTY GOD! Not just a friend in your posse, not just on of your loves.

He is the Creator, the All in All, Omnipresent, King of Kings, and the Great and Mighty One!! He is the God of every moment, in the good days and in the bad days. In all of these… I AM GOD!

God is Mighty

2 Chronicles 18/20:1

You are not alone. The battle goes to God! You can go to Him with any situation. The devil plans to destroy you because you can’t save yourself so you need to call on the Lord and say “I need you to save me! Without you I can’t live!”

We also need the gospel to do mighty things. God is Mighty!! He is mighty to save. We have temptation everyday. We have friends who drag us down to their lifestyle! BUT, even when we are bad, GOD LOVES ME!

We need to ask ourselves the question–“Why did You save me?” Why am I alive? ” We serve a God that is almighty. It is hard to understand why God loves me but He does! He is merciful and He constantly gives us chances to get right with Him!

Psalm 47 says ” He is our refuge and our strength,” He is always with us. The world can take my life but not my soul! NOTHING can separate us from the love of God! That is the MIGHTY God we serve! He is ALWAYS THERE —-ALWAYS!!

We are given a promise of eternal life. What a mighty God we serve! What a mighty God we serve to save a sinner like me.

We are surrounded by sin everyday and we have to pray daily for God to deliver us from temptation. The devil is fighting every day!!! We can take three steps forward and one step back but we need to get tired of fighting! We need to cry to the Lord to deliver us!! We always need Go to deliver us. The enemy will try to sidetrack us and bring up past mistakes and try to destroy our family BUT we have to let God hold it all in His hands.

The devil will never gives us a break! BUT TRUST IN GOD !! Why??

BECAUSE GOD IS MIGHTY!!
