Resurrection Sunday

John 19: 25-28

We are living in uncertain times. We are not sure what is going on.We are a lot like the disciples in the New Testament. They walked with Jesus for three years and learned to love this man. In the Upper Room, Jesus said he would be gone soon. Judas left.

Jesus went into the garden to pray and the soldiers came. All of the disciples left Jesus, yet John the Beloved was with Him to the end. As the crowds mocked Jesus, Jesus looked down to see Mary, His mother, and John the Baptist standing together. He said to them …Woman, this is your son and son this is your mother.

Remember, when you are in the garden, Jesus is there. When we stand at the foot of the cross, Jesus will notice us. Even in His agony, He took notice of His mother and John the Beloved. There is always room at the foot of the cross for you!

In these uncertain times there is room at the cross for ALL of us! When we feel like we are not worthy, our response should be not to run away but run to the cross, to be covered by the blood of the cross.

Jesus is the Way the Truth, and the Life–not me but by ME ! He said to repent and you shall be saved.

On a hill there was a cross for me! I should have died, I was the sinner. The cross is a place of liberty! I believe in an interactive God!

Pray the prayer of the Father and people will be healed!

So..Make your way to the foot of the cross!

The Road

Luke 10:30-35

The road to Jericho is similar to the Death road. Three thousand foot decline in elevation and it rained for over 2 weeks. The road was dangerous with bandits and was often called “Bloody Pass”. It was a treacherous place to travel.

Men would start their journey to Jerusalem after leaving the presence of God to journey , but would fall into the wrong crowd. Sometimes we mean to worship God but somewhere along the journey we are left a mess. I have never met anyone who walked away from God without something to complain about!

The parable of the sower and the seed is a great example of planting a seed in bad ground. It will not take root there. It is the same with people. The seeds can be sown in our heart but if it falls on dry ground it will wither and die.

There is no need to live inside the walls of mediocrity anymore. Let God tear down those walls. We go to church week after week and go through the motions, but we cannot let those emotions dictate our life! Don’t let a wall keep your from the promise! The world will lie and tell you what church should be but we cannot let them decide who God is to you!

In the parable of the good Samaritan, the Levites had rules and regulations they had to follow. They were not allowed to enter the Holy place after touching any dead thing. In the present day, it is not about the building ,but about the touch from God. We need to find God and not just talk about Him. Christianity does not make you a better person, but is to save us from the sins of self. It is not about being better but being sanctified.

I am so thankful that when I was bleeding and dying on the side of the road, I had someone to save me from my sins!  The Levites were all about work, and were forbidden to touch blood because it was unclean and they had to be pure to minister in the tabernacle.

We build walls around people we know and form groups. It is not wrong to have a group of friends , but there are people in the city that need God so we need to get outside of that group!

The Samaritan was looked at as a dog in Bible times by the Jews, but he was the one who stopped and bound the wounds of the the wounded man and took him to place to get help.

The promise of God is what marks you, not attendance or worship will save you. The promise will save me!

The church is like the special forces. If you are filled with the Holy Ghost, He has filled you with power. He gave us power to destroy the works of the enemy. BUT, is God testing you to see if you love Him? NO!! He allows us to go through things. He knows our heart, and He and wants us to become mature and grow up. He is stretching us!

God called you to be GREAT ! We cannot settle for anything less! When we are facing our biggest problem, God will make provisions because He has already prepared a table for us!

Appeal to your Heart

Jeremiah 31:15-17

Serving our teens and saving our children.

Brother Eric is appealing to your heart . He has presented a burden to us to pray and fast for our teens and children. We need to have passion and pull it deep from our hearts! As a church, hell has fought and thrown everything it can at us!! BUT we have overcome !

Think of martial artists… They prepare to get in the ring and fight! They are physically prepared. They walk in with the mentality of  “Come on!!”. We need to be that prepared when we come to church! We need to be on guard as a church.

As a church, I encourage you to weep and lament until God says “weep no more”!

When we get on Facebook, we should not air our dirty laundry, but put out Godliness and hope.

We should have a focus of prayer and fasting for the generation of children who are facing a wicked world! I am so thankful God has satan on a leash. He is trying to attack and take our children at every chance he can!

The reflection of a child on the outside, shows how they are feeling on the inside! Wearing all black, piercings, make up, studded collars,, etc. is a reflection of what is deep in their hearts ! There are lots of lies and they are fake on the outside!!

Some kids have left church because they have been hurt by kids in church! They feel like they have better friends in the world. WE are guilty of gossip and bullying, so of course why wouldn’t kids think they have more love in the world?? BUT it does not matter how long they are in the world… There is ALWAYS HOPE!!

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it! So many of our kids have left even though they have been trained. There are several potential reasons that they do not feel God.

No moving of God’s spirit. There is no interaction or hearing from God.
Parental influence…do you have a walk with God? Do you walk that walk? Are you stable in church?
Unrestrained lust for the world…They love the sin and want to do whatever they want to do!
The number one reason—lack of revelation, they were taught it but it never registered what it was all about.

We need to fear for our kids! Do they know what their worth is? The devil is buying today …how much is their soul worth?? Sex, money, fame??? Satan wants them to sell their crown to him…Don’t let ANYONE take your crown!!!!

We need a true, deep conviction about our kids…

I CHALLENGE THIS CHURCH TO FIGHT FOR OUR KIDS!! THEY DESERVE IT!!

Prayer and Fasting as a church

Matthew 13:31-32

Over time a small herb can grow into a tree. It may not look like much but when God is done with it, it is a mighty tree! God will also keep growing His church. It is not the end of the story—just a chapter!

Changes in kids are not seen day by day, sometimes it won’t be seen for years, but it can be crazy how fast they grow! Use growth instead of change! We don’t want change but growth is natural!

There are three natural changes in our life.. the first one is the hardest.  You go from nothing to something and it is the most dramatic. The second is going from small to working and growing. The third is working and you are at your best peak optimal performance.

The most difficult is going from nothing to something !  For instance, when you start a church, it can be just from scratch with you and your family every week. When something is in place,  there are better ways to operate. This is where e are going into 2020. We need to continue to fine tune as we grow.

We need to remember to commit our way to the Lord,  trust in Him and He will bring it to pass!  Put your faith in His word. God is faithful and will not return it void! We need to stand on His word!!

The twelve disciples expanded and grew the kingdom. It was expanded to 120 in the upper room, which greatly multiplied the number of disciples. God took the small, expanded it and it blew up in the Book of Acts.

We can expand like that in 2020! It is going to happen. He will bring it to pass! Healing and forgiveness will happen in 2020!

Just like a trapeze artist, we have to learn to walk up the ladder and grab that bar and swing. When we swing, we need to learn to trust that we can grab the other bar coming towards us and move on to the other side of the tent! Grab that bar and jump and swing! We are in a transition …we need to fly through the air, and let go of that back rope and grab on to the next rope!!

LET GO AND LET GOD!!!!

The Neverending Kingdom

Colossians 1:16-18

Beauty fades…As we get older, things that we thought were important, aren’t as important anymore! Midlife crisis … we do weird things, change our hairstyles, or whatever. We put our hopes in this life…basically we are having a “my life crisis”.

Jesus Christ is before the beginning. He is beforehand, the Alpha and Omega. He created all of us for a reason and purpose. We can’t fail if we don’t have expectations but we also cannot succeed.

We really have no idea what other people go through. In our church, we never have a normal service. It is more than the comfort of sitting for an hour in church. There are eternal consequences!

The birth of Jesus was more than a baby, or wise men. There is an eternal work of the kingdom of Heaven on earth. Through His death, burial and resurrection we can partake in that eternal kingdom. If we deny that, we also deny Christ!

When we sin and do wrong, God is still on the throne and will make an escape. It is Christ in you, The hope and glory!!

God never promised tomorrow! The Bible says He is the same yesterday, today and forever! His kingdom can reign in your life today! If God started something in you today, He will continue in His word and see it through to the end! God will walk on my behalf. He will make a way when there was NO WAY!!

We all want to celebrate the birth of Jesus, but the birth and death are linked. The kingdom of Heaven is eternal. My choice it to have fellowship with Him in His Kingdom and to celebrate His birth and His death!

Just remember one thing… you do not have to go a day without Him!!!

The Kingdom of Increase

Isaiah 9:7

The Hebrew word for increase means to multiply. God does multiplication. Adam and Eve had kids and they multiplied and so on and so on. It continues to this day! When we invest money, it increases. I does that over and over again.

We are also a church of increase! This applies to you ! Not everyday boring life ,but to add to it a little  with compound interest and our lives will multiply! If you bring someone to the Lord and they bring someone to the Lord, and are doing good things for God then that is increasing !

Millionaires don’t think like we do, They don’t have to work, they work because they love it!

Don’t come to church to have God take care of our problems…Come because God put something in my life I want to work to see it through! That is what the kingdom of Heaven is… it is getting what God said we could have. We need to stop the negative thinking about God and stop focusing on what was and what is!

It is like old songs and hymns… we are stuck in the past and you basically stopped connecting with the old songs. You don’t like the new songs and you are stuck! Stop longing for the past! God has so much for your future!!

During the walk in the wilderness, it took 40 years to kill off the generation, but after the Promised Land they never looked back at their old ways! We are so lucky that God is not bound by our past. We should be thankful for that!

Don’t get stuck in a rut! Our journey needs to be constant. Remember, the journey has nothing to do with where you are at, but where you are going. We are part of something greater—ETERNITY!

Our increase is based on what is coming, it is not just feeling the presence of God, but we are on a mission to take it beyond the surface.

We need God to speak eternal words in my life and move forward with expectation!

Don’t get bogged down and build a wall of impossibility!! Because… NOTHING is impossible with God!!

First of All-Prayer

1 Timothy 2:1

We need to get the church stoked in prayer. God cares about worship and praise. This altar should be worship and praise! God works through our prayers!  God even said to the disciples to watch and pray for one hour. Stay awake for one hour, but God had to remind them!

First we need to be a praying people, before winning the lost, and the men, as head of the household, need to pray!  We need to pray in our homes, daycare, hallway, and pray for our children in this dark world!

To the men of this church—God is calling you to pray, lifting holy hands, in our homes, cars, convenience stores, etc. It is God’s will for men to pray everywhere. There is a need to pray with lifted hands.

There may be a situation that will come along that will make us NOT want to pray, but we need to persevere and pray until something happens!!

Elijah was a praying, righteous man and he prayed for a rain cloud. Seven times he prayed and finally God answered that the rain was coming soon. Don’t give up and don’t get discouraged. Matthew 21:22 says ” And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

The Children of Israel complained before they crossed over and got manna. After they complained, they got meat. After they crossed over they saw the promised land and became a praying people.

Pray everywhere and you will see the effects. We want to be a revival church—on fire, fresh and alive!! We want to see praise reports!  If the church REALLY prays, they will be happy because prayers lift oppression!

When the church starts to pray, an aroma goes up to God and He can smell the prayer! Remember to pray without ceasing! David knew that incense was prayers going up to God! Incense and prayer are synonymous with each other! When we pray, it becomes a fragrant cloud to God. Cologne is supposed to attract people so we should want our church to smell good to God!

We want to make our church a fragrant cloud to God.We need a church willing to pray against evil!!

From Manna to Promise (Part 2)

Joshua 5:11-12

When God said “Let there be light” He did not have to say it again.

We are the church, not the building! We don’t want to “plug” into God just a little bit, because what you plug into is what you get out of it!  We need to be in a place in life to move beyond manna.

Mercy is a good thing and we need manna in our lives, but we do need to be in a place in life to move beyond manna. Manna was for the Children of Israel to always have food and for 2 years they had manna to survive. They crossed over and possessed the land. He called them to another level and purpose.

The purpose of manna is the purpose of the mercy of God., but it comes a time when we need more than manna. God put an expiration date on the manna. it was only good for one day! In heaven we will not need mercy, it’s just for this time. The judgement will come and then all mercy will be gone.

God has more than manna for you. We will all go through the wilderness and need the mercy of God.

There are problems with manna.

I like steak!! Forty years of eating manna..every day!! Manna is just mercy. Mercy will get old. One day you will not want to leave your tent to get manna and you will lose value in your life! God made you for more than a “manna life”. Manna falls for everyone, not just certain people.

There is no inheritance in manna. When spending time living with what God did in the last year, you are not living in manna! Manna joy is temporary, so plant a seed and it becomes permanent. Paul learned how to get through things and plant seeds. God has a walk of faith for us, not just mercy!

Did you know that 3% of athletes make it. They eat, sleep, and drink football. The world only offers temporary things. Manna was just to be temporary also! God wants to take you from manna to something permanent!

The Children of Israel had no persuasion to die. They did it to get the inheritance for their children and their children’s children.

Are you persuaded that God has a promise for you or are you fine with manna? The moment the Children of Israel stepped over into Kadesh-Barnea, they had new corn, not the old corn.

God says NO MORE MANNA!! You will now live off of the promise!!

I WANT THAT PROMISE !!

Stand on the Promises of the Almighty God

Pastor Tom Pina

Oct. 13, 2019

“I was glad when they said come to the house of the Lord.”

Jeremiah 32:17

God knows your situation. With trust and confidence we can lay it all on the altar! He will not leave you alone. We can trust Him no matter the situation. Abraham was told to drop everything so he could be shown the promise land. God wants us to drop everything so He can show us the promise land also!  It is human nature to not be able to grasp the power of the living God, But someday we will see beyond human nature!

I never thought I would walk a different life than what I had. I figured it was my lot in life . to either die of an overdose or armed robbery. We will overcome!! God will never leave us nor forsake us! We need to stand on the promise of the living God. He can bring you through! You need to put forth the confidence in Him!

I worked in tamale factory when I was young. I rode a bike to work. That bike had one bent wheel and 1 pedal. One day after work my bike was stolen! Wow, someone must have needed it worse than I did! I hitchhiked, rode the bus, etc. to get to work after that. I am so glad God had a better plan for my life!

God protects His children! Will it get heavy? YES! Sometimes stubbornness gets in the way also. Obey the word of God and allow yourself to fall into the hands of God.  We may have situations we cannot handle BUT  there is nothing too hard that God cannot do for you.

The key is to allow Him to be our God all the time, not just when you want Him to be! He always wants to be by your side. The simple power of the Mighty God is awesome, but we put limits on God. We need to understand that He is there to walk us through. He will never leave us but we will leave Him. We will leave and we will fail!

The strategy is to have faith in God. Jesus will help you cross the Jordan or the Red Sea and He will do it with understanding. Is there anything too hard for God? Don’t let the devil tell you you won’t make it! GOD WILL SEE YOU THROUGH!

Don’t lose your promise. When He said He will never forsake you…He meant it! He has never turned His back on me!

We serve a mighty God! Don’t let the enemy cheat you !!
