The lessons we learn from the waves we face

SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER REVEREND RYAN NEER

Do you ever wonder what is going on? This time of change makes us ask what is going on? Everything is happening, one thing after another.

In the Gospels, Jesus taught about the storms we face. For three and a half years He molded and shaped the disciples into what they needed to be. Jesus is always teaching us something, somewhere. The rate of learning must be greater than the rate of change. We need to become a student of what we are going through! Isaiah 30:20 says the Lord gives a little adversity to make you a good teacher.

In Luke 8 the disciples were faced with a storm and they were fearful. Jesus awakened and in Luke 8:25 He asked them “Where is your faith?”  He had given them faith, and they had faith, but where did they place it?

We put a bandage on anything that we put our faith in that is not God! We put faith in a bottle, pills, relationships, which in return can create a bandage. Disappointment is God’s way of delivering you by what you did not know you were bound by.

God wants us to locate our faith! If you put your faith in relationships, you will get let down. Disappointment is the first step tp faith. Put your faith back in God. Remember the storm is about you seeing His sovereignty.

The same storm where Jesus was asleep, raged on and they were filled with water.  The Bible does not say the boat was filled with water but THEY were filled with water! They had internal waves. How can Jesus sleep when I am going through this storm? For the disciples, Jesus was trying to teach them where their faith was.

When the disciples were on the boat at night and a storm came upon them, Jesus saw it all and knew they would go through that storm. They were afraid. The waves were pounding, but they saw a figure walking on the water on the very waves they were afraid of!  Just remember that no matter how dark the night, there are still waves under our feet. Step on top of what you are going through. Jesus said “Heaven is my throne and earth is my footstool”.

Put your faith back in God! We are called to be like Him, not swallowed up in fear. Don’t get bound by uncertainty. Now is the perfect time for the church to step out in faith! Be a student like never before! He will put it under your feet!

Resurrection Sunday

John 19: 25-28

We are living in uncertain times. We are not sure what is going on.We are a lot like the disciples in the New Testament. They walked with Jesus for three years and learned to love this man. In the Upper Room, Jesus said he would be gone soon. Judas left.

Jesus went into the garden to pray and the soldiers came. All of the disciples left Jesus, yet John the Beloved was with Him to the end. As the crowds mocked Jesus, Jesus looked down to see Mary, His mother, and John the Baptist standing together. He said to them …Woman, this is your son and son this is your mother.

Remember, when you are in the garden, Jesus is there. When we stand at the foot of the cross, Jesus will notice us. Even in His agony, He took notice of His mother and John the Beloved. There is always room at the foot of the cross for you!

In these uncertain times there is room at the cross for ALL of us! When we feel like we are not worthy, our response should be not to run away but run to the cross, to be covered by the blood of the cross.

Jesus is the Way the Truth, and the Life–not me but by ME ! He said to repent and you shall be saved.

On a hill there was a cross for me! I should have died, I was the sinner. The cross is a place of liberty! I believe in an interactive God!

Pray the prayer of the Father and people will be healed!

So..Make your way to the foot of the cross!

Introducing the Son of Worship

2 Chronicles 29: 1-2

Hezekiah, the son of worship, grew up with evil all around him, but worship was instilled in his life. His name equaled strength or empowered of God. Ahaz was his father, a wicked king. Hezekiah was not the son of Ahaz but a son of David. He was the first king to get rid of royalty and worship God with all he had!

When we worship God and if you worship, the Spirit of God will be with you. There is no hopelessness, just look to Jesus.

In Hebrew, the word worship means to bow down. You need to show that He is greater than you ! We have an opportunity to worship with all our hearts! Those that love Him will get down on their knees, because He is greater than me or my problems and my needs. Give Him the honor as a sovereign God.

The Greek word for worship means to give reverence or adore, or showing awe to someone who is higher.  We need to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

There were three princes in Babylon. They had made a name for themselves. They were told to bow down and worship another god but they told them , with all due respect, that they would not do it. Shadrach, Meschak, and Abednego were thrown into a fiery furnace for not bowing down to “their” god. King Nebuchadnezzar became very angry and set the heat in the furnace 7 times hotter to make them obey. they still did not obey and so the king had the bound and cast INTO the furnace.

They were very choosy about who they bowed down to worship. They decided to worship the ONE TRUE GOD!

Remember that we are still free to worship. The government has never said we cannot worship God. Don’t stop worshipping at home when all of this is over. You can be a worshipper no matter where you are !

In Daniel 3 as they looked into the furnace at the three princes, they noticed a fourth. God walks with us in worship, it is not predicated on how you feel. Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego worshipped God and danced in the furnace, so we can worship God in the midst of the bills!

The body may get sick, but one thing never changes and that is our walk with God. He took away the sting of death and the grave.

No one should never walk out of church depressed. You may have walked into church depressed but God was there and HE CAN DO ANYTHING !!

Annoyed or Anointed

John 9:3-9

Anointing sounds pretty in the Bible, but in the Bible Jesus wanted to heal a blind man. He mixed his spit with dirt and made mud. He did not just dab the mud on the blind man’s eyes but, like a carpenter, he splattered it on and mashed it into his eyes. He filled on all the gaps and made sure to rub the mud in very well. It was not pretty, and did not look good and I am most sure it was irritating to the blind man. There were three ways the blind man could have been irritated:

  1. Socially irritated-He was minding his own business and did not know who Jesus was. He was just trying to make money and was not even thinking of being healed. He never asked to be healed.Miracles take anointing.
  2. Emotionally irritated-He could hear the spit, but did not know what was going on. He felt the wetness on his eyes as Jesus rubbed the mud mixture into his eyes. All he had to go by,was his hearing and feeling. HE was irritated emotionally because he could not see what was going on.
  3. Physically irritated-Jesus actually rubbed mud deep into his eyes and most likely it would have been very uncomfortable to the blind man, and may have even been in pain by it.

We will get irritated in life. God will take you to a place of irritation. There are many things that make us irritated. Circumstances can irritate us, a stomach ache can irritate us. So many things can be of an irritation to us. We do not understand that God is trying to anoint us! If you have no irritation then you will not have anointing!

Why did Jesus use spit? He could have used wateror just said a word, but why did He humiliate him? We do the same with church. We get irritated so we switch churches. We just don’t understand God’s anointing!

The blind man was justified to be annoyed. He never received an anointing. Anointing is meant to be annoying and is meant to irritate you! We become comfortable with what we live. We expect God to move us when in our comfort zone but that won’t work.

His ways are bigger than our ways. He has GREAT plans for us! Just remember that irritations come with anointings. Even though we are irritated right now, we will get to a place where something changes. We either get comfortable with the irritation or or look for something on the other side of that irritation.

Get to that place of irritation and move to obedience and a miracle will happen!

As the blind man washed the mud and spit from his eyes, he was able to see for the first time in his life! Are you tired of not seeing what God can do in your life?

We are programmed to believe that irritation is from the devil. God created good and evil. He let the devil irritate Job. Don’t you think God knows what is going on in your life? A little irritation and you will come out like gold!!

Just remember to NOT give up in the middle of the irritation. God has something for you!!

The Road

Luke 10:30-35

The road to Jericho is similar to the Death road. Three thousand foot decline in elevation and it rained for over 2 weeks. The road was dangerous with bandits and was often called “Bloody Pass”. It was a treacherous place to travel.

Men would start their journey to Jerusalem after leaving the presence of God to journey , but would fall into the wrong crowd. Sometimes we mean to worship God but somewhere along the journey we are left a mess. I have never met anyone who walked away from God without something to complain about!

The parable of the sower and the seed is a great example of planting a seed in bad ground. It will not take root there. It is the same with people. The seeds can be sown in our heart but if it falls on dry ground it will wither and die.

There is no need to live inside the walls of mediocrity anymore. Let God tear down those walls. We go to church week after week and go through the motions, but we cannot let those emotions dictate our life! Don’t let a wall keep your from the promise! The world will lie and tell you what church should be but we cannot let them decide who God is to you!

In the parable of the good Samaritan, the Levites had rules and regulations they had to follow. They were not allowed to enter the Holy place after touching any dead thing. In the present day, it is not about the building ,but about the touch from God. We need to find God and not just talk about Him. Christianity does not make you a better person, but is to save us from the sins of self. It is not about being better but being sanctified.

I am so thankful that when I was bleeding and dying on the side of the road, I had someone to save me from my sins!  The Levites were all about work, and were forbidden to touch blood because it was unclean and they had to be pure to minister in the tabernacle.

We build walls around people we know and form groups. It is not wrong to have a group of friends , but there are people in the city that need God so we need to get outside of that group!

The Samaritan was looked at as a dog in Bible times by the Jews, but he was the one who stopped and bound the wounds of the the wounded man and took him to place to get help.

The promise of God is what marks you, not attendance or worship will save you. The promise will save me!

The church is like the special forces. If you are filled with the Holy Ghost, He has filled you with power. He gave us power to destroy the works of the enemy. BUT, is God testing you to see if you love Him? NO!! He allows us to go through things. He knows our heart, and He and wants us to become mature and grow up. He is stretching us!

God called you to be GREAT ! We cannot settle for anything less! When we are facing our biggest problem, God will make provisions because He has already prepared a table for us!

Release His Spirit

1 Corinthians 3:16

As Christians, we need to take up the cross, deny ourselves, and walk with Christ. Remember, you are the temple of God and the Spirit of God dwells in you ! We need to continually thank God for filling us with His Spirit.

2 Corinthians 4:7 says  “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” We have options… Brokenness is good for the church. When we break the outer man, the inner man can be released. So if you want to walk with Christ, you need to take up your cross and follow Him. It is not about me, but about releasing His Spirit into the world.

Unless we plant a seed in the ground, it will NOT grow! Sowing that seed in the ground will make it come back up and vegetate, and grow more and more and will produce more seeds!

Jesus even said to His disciples to take up their cross, deny themselves, and follow Me. By a lack of the cross, there will be more divorce, backsliding, and more of a mix of sin with Christianity.

1 Corinthians 10:21 says “Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.” You cannot be in the world and in the church…you must choose one or the other! We all have a desire for sin and can be wrong in the moment, but God convicts our heart and wants us to cut that sin off NOW !

GET GOD TO GET GOOD! Bring every struggle and desire to Him. He came down and crucified himself for us! Destroy ALL sin that will stop you from living for God! ALL sin!!

As a church, we are under attack! Satan is at work and when Satan comes in like a flood, My God will hold up a standard.

Are you willing to do what God asks of you? Are you willing to lay hands on people? Sometimes our spirit is willing but our flesh is weak! Jesus had to pray 3 times because His flesh was weak! If we are not willing to die to ourselves and take up that cross, we need to pray, pray, pray! Say YES to God!

We need to demonstrate God’s love. Fall on the rock of Jesus Christ… “not my will, but yours”. It is not about you and me but about reflecting God’s glory!

Appeal to your Heart

Jeremiah 31:15-17

Serving our teens and saving our children.

Brother Eric is appealing to your heart . He has presented a burden to us to pray and fast for our teens and children. We need to have passion and pull it deep from our hearts! As a church, hell has fought and thrown everything it can at us!! BUT we have overcome !

Think of martial artists… They prepare to get in the ring and fight! They are physically prepared. They walk in with the mentality of  “Come on!!”. We need to be that prepared when we come to church! We need to be on guard as a church.

As a church, I encourage you to weep and lament until God says “weep no more”!

When we get on Facebook, we should not air our dirty laundry, but put out Godliness and hope.

We should have a focus of prayer and fasting for the generation of children who are facing a wicked world! I am so thankful God has satan on a leash. He is trying to attack and take our children at every chance he can!

The reflection of a child on the outside, shows how they are feeling on the inside! Wearing all black, piercings, make up, studded collars,, etc. is a reflection of what is deep in their hearts ! There are lots of lies and they are fake on the outside!!

Some kids have left church because they have been hurt by kids in church! They feel like they have better friends in the world. WE are guilty of gossip and bullying, so of course why wouldn’t kids think they have more love in the world?? BUT it does not matter how long they are in the world… There is ALWAYS HOPE!!

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it! So many of our kids have left even though they have been trained. There are several potential reasons that they do not feel God.

No moving of God’s spirit. There is no interaction or hearing from God.
Parental influence…do you have a walk with God? Do you walk that walk? Are you stable in church?
Unrestrained lust for the world…They love the sin and want to do whatever they want to do!
The number one reason—lack of revelation, they were taught it but it never registered what it was all about.

We need to fear for our kids! Do they know what their worth is? The devil is buying today …how much is their soul worth?? Sex, money, fame??? Satan wants them to sell their crown to him…Don’t let ANYONE take your crown!!!!

We need a true, deep conviction about our kids…

I CHALLENGE THIS CHURCH TO FIGHT FOR OUR KIDS!! THEY DESERVE IT!!

Prayer and Fasting as a church

Matthew 13:31-32

Over time a small herb can grow into a tree. It may not look like much but when God is done with it, it is a mighty tree! God will also keep growing His church. It is not the end of the story—just a chapter!

Changes in kids are not seen day by day, sometimes it won’t be seen for years, but it can be crazy how fast they grow! Use growth instead of change! We don’t want change but growth is natural!

There are three natural changes in our life.. the first one is the hardest.  You go from nothing to something and it is the most dramatic. The second is going from small to working and growing. The third is working and you are at your best peak optimal performance.

The most difficult is going from nothing to something !  For instance, when you start a church, it can be just from scratch with you and your family every week. When something is in place,  there are better ways to operate. This is where e are going into 2020. We need to continue to fine tune as we grow.

We need to remember to commit our way to the Lord,  trust in Him and He will bring it to pass!  Put your faith in His word. God is faithful and will not return it void! We need to stand on His word!!

The twelve disciples expanded and grew the kingdom. It was expanded to 120 in the upper room, which greatly multiplied the number of disciples. God took the small, expanded it and it blew up in the Book of Acts.

We can expand like that in 2020! It is going to happen. He will bring it to pass! Healing and forgiveness will happen in 2020!

Just like a trapeze artist, we have to learn to walk up the ladder and grab that bar and swing. When we swing, we need to learn to trust that we can grab the other bar coming towards us and move on to the other side of the tent! Grab that bar and jump and swing! We are in a transition …we need to fly through the air, and let go of that back rope and grab on to the next rope!!

LET GO AND LET GOD!!!!

The Neverending Kingdom

Colossians 1:16-18

Beauty fades…As we get older, things that we thought were important, aren’t as important anymore! Midlife crisis … we do weird things, change our hairstyles, or whatever. We put our hopes in this life…basically we are having a “my life crisis”.

Jesus Christ is before the beginning. He is beforehand, the Alpha and Omega. He created all of us for a reason and purpose. We can’t fail if we don’t have expectations but we also cannot succeed.

We really have no idea what other people go through. In our church, we never have a normal service. It is more than the comfort of sitting for an hour in church. There are eternal consequences!

The birth of Jesus was more than a baby, or wise men. There is an eternal work of the kingdom of Heaven on earth. Through His death, burial and resurrection we can partake in that eternal kingdom. If we deny that, we also deny Christ!

When we sin and do wrong, God is still on the throne and will make an escape. It is Christ in you, The hope and glory!!

God never promised tomorrow! The Bible says He is the same yesterday, today and forever! His kingdom can reign in your life today! If God started something in you today, He will continue in His word and see it through to the end! God will walk on my behalf. He will make a way when there was NO WAY!!

We all want to celebrate the birth of Jesus, but the birth and death are linked. The kingdom of Heaven is eternal. My choice it to have fellowship with Him in His Kingdom and to celebrate His birth and His death!

Just remember one thing… you do not have to go a day without Him!!!

The Kingdom of Increase

Isaiah 9:7

The Hebrew word for increase means to multiply. God does multiplication. Adam and Eve had kids and they multiplied and so on and so on. It continues to this day! When we invest money, it increases. I does that over and over again.

We are also a church of increase! This applies to you ! Not everyday boring life ,but to add to it a little  with compound interest and our lives will multiply! If you bring someone to the Lord and they bring someone to the Lord, and are doing good things for God then that is increasing !

Millionaires don’t think like we do, They don’t have to work, they work because they love it!

Don’t come to church to have God take care of our problems…Come because God put something in my life I want to work to see it through! That is what the kingdom of Heaven is… it is getting what God said we could have. We need to stop the negative thinking about God and stop focusing on what was and what is!

It is like old songs and hymns… we are stuck in the past and you basically stopped connecting with the old songs. You don’t like the new songs and you are stuck! Stop longing for the past! God has so much for your future!!

During the walk in the wilderness, it took 40 years to kill off the generation, but after the Promised Land they never looked back at their old ways! We are so lucky that God is not bound by our past. We should be thankful for that!

Don’t get stuck in a rut! Our journey needs to be constant. Remember, the journey has nothing to do with where you are at, but where you are going. We are part of something greater—ETERNITY!

Our increase is based on what is coming, it is not just feeling the presence of God, but we are on a mission to take it beyond the surface.

We need God to speak eternal words in my life and move forward with expectation!

Don’t get bogged down and build a wall of impossibility!! Because… NOTHING is impossible with God!!
